Completed Projects and descriptions:

Bilingual Google Search Project

                 evaluation

              task analysis and objectives

This is an instructional design project created in Microsoft Front Page.  There is an opening page that allows the user to choose whether they want to see the instructions in Spanish or English.  Their choice leads them to a page with step by step instructions including graphics created using Hypersnap and screen capture. These images help to show the user what they will see on the screen as they try to do a search in Google and then print their results.  It offers suggestions of how to explore and return to the search page and how to see more pages of results.  This is for users that do not know how to do basic searches in Google who speak either Spanish or English.  It could be expanded to include other languages very easily.
Google Search presentation This is a powerpoint presentation saved as a web archive to be easily viewed on the web explaining the Bilingual Google Search Project. This is good to use for a presentation to a group of users who want to learn to do basic searches in Google.  It would be used in place of  or in addition to the Bilingual Google Search Project.  The presentation is done in English and could be changed to Spanish if the audience were Spanish speakers.
Spain This is a project used for my beginning Spanish students as a web quest in middle school to introduce them to Spain.  It was created in notepad using straight html tags.  There are links to Barcelona, Granada, and Madrid pages also created in html. There are photographs and links to the Prado Museum. This could be expanded to include other cities.  I did not have a web page creator, so html was used.
Diversity Presentation

                 Diversity Hand-out

This is a powerpoint presentation on Diversity that includes a list of organizations that help promote diversity in libraries.  It also has statistics about library users and librarians.
Digital Photography This page shows various sites of Catholic University of America taken with a digital camera.  The photographs were edited in the Kodak Imaging program.  Photographs can be included in any web page to add visuals to a presentation of material.  They can also show steps in a process. (No student pictures should be used on web pages.) Students can learn to take pictures and create their own pages or include them in school news programs.  Digital photography allows the user to see the picture as it is taken rather than waiting for developing.  It also allows for fast download for immediate inclusion on a web page or powerpoint presentation.

Page information:  This page was originally created as part of the assignments for the Library and Information Sciences course LSC 776 at the Catholic University of America in August 2003.  It has since been updated and edited. Its creator and editor is Shelley Chitwood.
